I see many negative comments here, but let me share my journey with you. I have qualified NET-JRF and am currently pursuing my PhD at the Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur. Life here is wonderful – from academics to accommodation, food, sports, and an environment that helps you grow in every direction.
Don’t let random negative voices stop you from chasing your dream. Qualifying NET/JRF opens multiple doors ,you can pursue your PhD in top institutions like IIMs, IITs, NITs, etc., and build a strong career as an Assistant Professor or researcher. The journey may be challenging, but the rewards are worth it.
If I can do it, you can do it too. Believe in yourself, stay consistent with your preparation, and remember, every step you take today is building your tomorrow. Stay motivated, and don’t let anyone else define your future!

Recently, there was an Assistant Professor posts in my district. So basically even if you qualify UGC NET, they only call the ones who have the highest academic score and it is also based on the number of posts. The ratio is 1:2.5 meaning that if Economics has 10 post then they will only call 25 candidates for the post. Even if you are eligible, you need to have a high academic score including teaching experiences, paper publications and other achievements.
