  Up in the mountains and deep in the hollar, my papaw made a sheet pan of biscuits and a skillet full of fried apples every morning before going to work at the steel mill. He walked to a bus stop to go to work. Never owned a car or truck, too poor. Everyday, he would come home with a paper sack of a few items from the store. After a short rest he would be out in the garden. There was always fried apples and biscuits covered in tea towels sitting on the old farm table in the kitchen. Wonderful memories.

  My grandma used to make chicken and dumplings.  She sautéed onion, celery and carrot and had onion powder garlic powder poultry seasoning and parsley in the gravy.  She put garlic and onion powder and chives in the dumplings.  She died when I was 26.  I am 53 now.  I was close with and had all 4 of my grandparents as a very big part of my life.  I still miss them everyday.  They were the most sweet, friendly, kind people I have ever met.  There just isn’t those kind of people anymore.  RIP❤️😢❤️

  Fried apples, biscuits and country ham were in our kitchen on the farm my entire childhood in cast iron skillets in the oven all day until grandma passed away. It's strange how food can lock in so many memories and emotions. Every time I smell fried apples, I see maymal and feel her hugs.

  The country fried steak, mashed potatoes, white gravy and fried okra. Biscuit. Can’t go wrong with it. Now I am hungry!

  This is the best Chicken Fried Steak Recipe I've ever came across. NO more already made stuff from the freezer section!  I even used the flour mixture on my fried chicken. Oh my lanta!  I didn't have any saltine crackers, so I used Ritz...they really worked well.  I'd love to meet Nicole sometime. She'd be a lot of fun. I went to a Vo-Tech here by us & learned how to better cook for my family.  It taught me a lot. I have 3 Gold Medals that I earned at State Competitions. What a true honor to make it that far.    Thank you, Nicole, for your fun to watch videos & recipes that my husband & I can enjoy!

  All these people commenting how bad Cracker Barre is, yet every time I drive by one their parking lot is at least 3/4 full! I personally love seeing a Cracker Barrel pop up at "next exit" after driving all day tired/starving! Same with McDonalds - everyone complains but parking lot/drive thru is packed!

  I am 64 and never really loved cooking. I was always more of a meat/potatoes/grill or Chik Fil A mom, just kept it very simple. My four kids are now all out of the house and I've LOVED watching your videos for inspiration because I'm FINALLY learning how to cook from you! I made actual real whipped cream today and my son called while I was washing the immersion blender. I'm bragging and he's like, "Mom, you whipped some cream." And I said, "Thanks to Nicole on You Tube!!! I figure by the time the last two are finished with college I'm going to be really pretty good, thanks to you!

  For the past 2 years, I’ve been the primary cooker while my wife works on her Masters in Divinity.  The many dishes I’ve learned from this channel have been an absolute game changer!  So much so that I’ve decided to anoint myself as a self proclaimed “Home Chef”…just ordered my chef jacket today. 😂 I can’t thank you enough for helping me enhance my cooking skills!!!
