Doctor Who review of Season 1 Episode 4 where Ncuti Gatwa disappears and Ruby is left to carry the show. This episode happened as Ncuti was busy filming another TV series and it definitely resulted in a more serious atmosphere that I don't think would be possible with him there. Unfortunately, the plot was seemingly not written. There was a lot of scenes that on their own were interesting, but built up to nothing and didn't make sense in retrospect. The 2nd rewatch of this episode is made so much worse when you realise what its building up to and which lines were just bait that never led to anything. Will it be explained later? Will be satisfying that point even if it is? I have my doubts, especially if Ruby is what I think she is. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

It's even dumber when you actually know what fairy circles are. They're not things people put together with string and lucky charms. They're circles of flowers, or mushrooms. They aren't manmade at all!

Episode 1: Steps out on a butterfly, major issues happen.<br>Episode 3: Steps out on a landmine, major issues happen.<br>Episode 4: Steps out on a piece of string, major issues happen.<br><br>A normal Time Lord would learn from this.

I bet the 'old woman' was just warning everyone that Ncuti Gatwa would show up if they talked to Ruby

Disparu, I live in Wales, nice place, attractive sheep but our government is total rubbish and are trying to stop tourists because of "climate Change" and a 20mph speed limit and yes drinks are expensive and have a Welsh tax. Nobody sings anymore, we just weep.

So she's suddenly abandoned by the Doctor, lives sad and alone for 60-ish years save for an SCP-esque entity in her peripheral vision haunting her, realizes on her own deathbed that she <b>is</b> the entity, and then suddenly it's all undone and then everything goes back to normal except she has a vague idea that it <b>did</b> happen...? I mean, wokeness and everything else aside, is this kind of (poorly-written) existentialism normal for a Dr. Who episode? Feels more like SCP Foundation X Black Mirror X Twilight Zone to me.

Can you imagine Gatwa being there, constantly on the run from the woman 73 yards away and crying the whole time. Then Ruby dies, travels back, and all is well. Yay!!! What happened, idk. Yay!!!

The old women said: "In 30 seconds Gatwa will be here." Of course everybody ran as fast as they could.

Imagine having a time machine, travelling through time and space, ... and then just visiting Welsh dwellers in the present. Nothing more. Good usage of an adventure.

Loose ends from this episode:<br>1. What does the old woman keep whispering that everyone she talks to runs away from Ruby forever?<br>2. Upon old Ruby time-travelling, why does the Doctor still mention Roger ap Gwilliam, “after” Ruby deposed him? He shouldn’t have been the most dangerous PM.<br>3. What was the relevance of the fairy circle? How did it make the Doctor disappear and lock the TARDIS?<br>4. (not really a loose end) Why use the number 65 three times? £65 for the inn, £65 billion invested in nuclear weapons, 65 years of being followed by the woman.<br>5. (rapid-fire) What caused this? How did the woman make old Ruby time travel? What made the woman maintain a 73-yard distance?<br><br>RTD is leaning far more into magic than science fiction these days. Kate even admits it lol, when she admits that UNIT often investigates the supernatural.

Ah yes Dr. Who and his companion are now adult children not because of their sense of wonder but because they act like actual children.
