37:30 Can we get over this "people dont want to lose their jobs" ... They don't want to lose their income or ability to get food and housing etc. if people didnt want to lose their jobs the entire concept of retirement wouldnt be a thing and everyone would happily work until the day they die. If someone really wants to "work" they can volunteer their time to causes that they care about.

One of the most interesting and layman-friendly AI conversations I’ve seen. Great stuff.

The Singularity suddenly isn't feeling so much like science fiction after all, is it? It's funny seeing folks finally wake up to this. Cue the Morpheus meme...

Couple ideas to consider.
(1) What humanity is inside of is an evolutionary event beyond our ability to stop or slow down, thus are choices are to either try as best we can to go through this event in the nicest way we can or fail to do this and make going through this event a very traumatic one with a risk of extinction.
(2) Probably within the next century the change humanity will be going through is MORE THAN the change humans have gone through over the past 100,000 years.
(3) A lot of the ideas people are coming up with for how to deal with what is happening to us are vert BAD ideas, meaning that even though they think their ideas will make us safer, the truth is the opposite.

If there is a breakout Singularity phase, it will be more likely that we see a century in a year, rather than 10 years.
