In Andhra, Pothuraju is found along with mother goddess in every village. In their simplest forms, mother goddess is found at the base of a banyan, peepal, neem, amla or jammi(shami) tree and pothuraju is in front of her in the form of a linga.<br><br>Also, pothu in telugu means an adult male herd animal. So, pothuraju means king of animals

6;59 yes Saraswathi is mentioned in Vedas but that doesn't mean it was not present earlier... Name could differ but obviously it didn't appear all of sudden in Vedic era
