  I was young during the Cold War (born 1970), but still have vague memories of what it felt like during that period.  Always in the background, if not in the foreground, was a sense that nuclear annihilation was possible.  When the Cold War began to crumble in 1989, I remember feeling a sigh of relief as we watched it happen on the news, while at the same time waiting for the Soviets to reestablish control over the communist eastern European countries.  For a time after the Soviet Union collapsed in 1992, it felt unbelievable that it was finally over.  For a few decades anyway the world seemed like it could actually get better.

  The insanity of building and testing more powerful weapons, while simultaneously engaging in diplomacy to reduce them is palpable, plus it is as gigantic waste of resources and lives.

  And now the period of time between 1991 and 2014 is known as the inter Cold War period. We are currently in the Cold War part two. Let us pray cool heads prevail again

  We had 8track tapes 1970-79 era  true entertainment no download fees to pay and 8track tapes come fresh from the recording studio - no joke 😊 8track tapes the podcast  of the day 😊
