  I'm glad Marc mentioned Alejandro Escovedo! Alejandro's  solo stuff is amazing and so is his work with the various bands(The Nuns, Rank and File, True Believers) he's been involved in. Check him out if you're unfamiliar with him. You won't be disappointed.

  I love Marc Maron. His music taste is so unpretentious. He just loves music and will listen to anything, old and new. It's refreshing to see an older guy embracing new music like he does. There's not many other 61 year olds out there who buy Miley Cyrus and Boygenius. They're all too busy whinging about how there's no good music any more while listening to the same 5 bands.

  My dad has a story of going down to London, to audition to sing in a band when he was around 19 or so. He was working on building sites in the West Midlands at the time. The band was intended to be one of the &apos;super groups&apos; of the time, containing various members of recently disbanded acts. Lead guitarist? Paul Kossoff of Free. <br><br>My dad won, and suddenly found himself living in London, playing the guitar Kossoff used - he still says it was strung up with Violin strings, from memory. Unfortunately during rehearsals and studio sessions PK was showing heavy signs of drug addiction, and passed not long after.<br><br>My dad moved back up to the West Midlands, and went back to working on building sites.<br><br><br>Have just sent him this video, sure it will bring a smile to his face!
