The Rock Hudson line was great.

I also love when Kenneth Horne breaks out the polari himself: he even got to say “Oh bold! Very bold!” haha.

One of my other favourite bits was:

Horne: “Would I have vada’d any of them, do you think?”

Sandy: “Ooo, he’s got all the polari, ain’t he!”

Julian: “I wonder where he picks it up...”

Even though it’s radio, you can still picture every single one of their expressions.

The 3 of them were just perfect together: I love that you can hear them trying to make each other laugh, which the in-studio audience can obviously see.
Though I think Kenneth Williams was the worst one for it, as he would often try to make Hugh Paddick corpse/ you can hear it in this sketch, when Julian (Paddick) is explaining the premise for his “Samson and Delilah” adaptation, but has to stop a couple of times- probably because of a facial expression Sandy (Williams) is making, to deliberately make him.

There’s nothing better, when you’re acting in a scene, than doing something to make the other actor/s almost corpse/corpse.
Doing the same lines over and over again, can get a bit boring, so it’s fun to mess around with things slightly: it’s easier with comedy, as you can get away with it, without ruining the show.

I wouldn’t recommend trying it, if you’re doing something like ‘Schindler’s List’: having actors trying to hold back the giggles does tend to ruin the mood a bit haha.

Geniuses at work. Being gay in the old days was exciting. It wasn’t illegal to be gay, just getting caught ‘at it’.
