That wasn’t an audition. That was a PERFORMANCE! Marveling at her dual talent— guitar skills and vocal range are both epic. I don't know if she plays the guitar better than she sings or sings better than she plays the guitar. This girl is epically talented. Before taking the AGT stage, Nene is not an overnight arrival. She started learning guitar when she was seven, and has been busking and playing with her band Ozone regularly in Phuket markets for years. Her bandmates are all teenagers. Her passion, hard work, and incredible guitar solos have now taken her all the way to one of the world's biggest talent shows. Nene has a special gift. A 16-year-old Nene Royal looked exactly like what everyone expected. Quiet, shy, a little nervous, standing on one of the biggest stages in the world with nothing but a guitar and a dream. No one in that theater or watching online could have predicted what would happen next because the moment she opened her mouth and began singing Zombie, something shifted. It no longer felt like an audition. It felt like the opening night of a sold-out rock concert. Her version of Zombie wasn't simply another cover. It carried a raw intensity that surprised almost everyone. The guitar wasn't there as a prop. The vocals weren't relyin on studio tricks. Every scream, every growl, every quiet moment felt intentional. The performance wasn't polished because it was perfect. It was powerful because it felt real. I think another reason viewers connected with NeNe was authenticity. Many performances feel rehearsed. Many contestants seem focused on impressing judges, but fans repeatedly described NeNe differently. She wasn't trying to win approval. She looked like someone who simply wanted to share music she genuinely loves since childhood. Several viewers even joked that she didn't audition at all. She simply gave everyone a preview of future concerts. She’s just authentic. She's genuine. She's not acting, not pretending, but she's so sweet. She shouts out her dad. Then when the music starts, everybody, she locks in. And it's almost like she turned into a different version of herself. This is the moment I knew she was about business because she's not trying to fix her hair and get it out of her face. She's like, This is part of what it means to rock out. The hair is going to get messy, it’s real and it’s Rock Simon! Oh my goodness! Shes AMAZING good and her future looks very-very bright💖🤟🏼🤟🏼✌️

She said on an interview that she wasn't emotional at all after the performance until she glanced over to her Dad crying, that's when she couldn't hold back her tears.

I saw this about a week ago. She is really good. Even her facial expressions added to her performance.

Great reaction Stacey. What made this audition so unforgettable wasn't just the incredible performance, but the contrast. Nene's shy smile, gentle personality, and humble presence suddenly transformed into powerful rock energy on stage. We see the same authenticity in bands like The Warning, and even legends like Michael Jackson had that quiet side offstage. True artists don't need to look like stars—they become stars when the music reveals their authenticity, attitude, and passion. That's what makes them truly unforgettable.

If Nene’s singing doesn’t bring you to tears, there’s something wrong with you.
