Hey Shayley, just wanted to comment to give you some reassurance that a lot of the things you're talking about are very relatable and I'm glad you have the space to talk about it and process your thoughts here as I think it's really useful. I have dermatillomania which works similarly to trichotillomania, there's no shame in it it's just an overdeveloped grooming instinct but it's definitely good to try and identify triggers and stay mindful to prevent damage - it's actually somewhat relieving to me to see a behaviour I do look normal on someone else :')

It's also great to hear how your experiences in Aus are changing the way you think about the world and what you want to do with your life, these are some very formative years you're going in to and I think being open to what you feel your mind and body wants over an idea of structure you might've had before is a great thing and I think there is so much life experience to be gained from interacting with new people in new places so I'm glad you're enjoying that!

Lastly, I'm sorry you've been feeling bad about your eating, I'm very familiar with the feeling and alcohol can definitely make the feelings worse but I'm sure if we weren't conditioned to feel this way about our bodies we would simply be enjoying good nights out with friends and enjoying the taste of food when we wanted to - a few big nights out won't be doing any harm.

I don't usually leave comments at all but I just feel so many things you're saying are so relatable! I'm not sure if you've looked into ADHD/OCD at all but you might find some interesting things with that. Also, don't stress about over sharing, your whisper is always great ASMR no matter what you are saying, I fell asleep to this last night so had to come back this morning to watch again 😅

i relate to you so much with the food struggles. it means so much to me that you’re talking about it because i feel the exact same way and i never hear anyone talk about it. i feel like it takes over so much of my life u literally described exactly how i feel. just know you are not alone ❤❤❤

Thanks for the one-hour video, Shayley. Regarding your eyebrows, I can closely relate. I watched the whole video and heard what you said toward the end, and it’s a feeling I know all too well.

What you described sounds very similar to my experience with trichotillomania, which I also struggle with but have worked to get under control. I used to play with and pull out my eyelashes and eyebrows, usually when I was stressed about school or something else going on in my personal life. I would constantly touch my face, and eventually I’d get the urge to pull them out. It’s a feeling that’s really hard to explain to someone who hasn’t experienced it.

I’ve worked on resisting the urge and being more mindful of when I’m touching my face, because for me, that often leads to pulling. I was able to work on this myself, and thankfully it has mostly helped, but talking to someone could also be beneficial. I still get the urge sometimes and have had periods where I’ve relapsed as well.

All that to say, I’m not judging whatsoever. I just want you to know that you’re not alone. I wish you the very best, and thank you for all the hard work you put into your content!

When I was very little throughout elementary school I pulled all my eye lashes and eye brows out. My parents took me to the doctor and they wanted to give me medication but I don’t recommend it. I am truthfully unsure how I was able to get out of being obsessed with doing it because I still sometimes do it but not nearly had bad as it was. Things I would say help is having things to do when stressed or bored or easily distracted, something you can replaced with doing that (clicking a pen, messing with something, whatever works for you) i would also ask you friends and family if they see you touch your face to move your hand so you start to recognize when you are thinking about doing it. Try to never touch your eyebrows or eye lashes like how you were playing with them try to catch yourself doing it and do something else. The more you touch them the more you want to pull them. It is an actual disorder if you aren’t aware of that either because I wasn’t!

Thank you for opening up in this video. I have always sensed we both had a similar relationship with food, but hearing you talk about it made me feel a little less alone. I LOVE your videos, and think you're dope.

Hello Shayley! First of all, thank you for all the videos that you've been uploading. Usually I don't write under videos, but I wanted to appreciate your effort and thank you. Second, I also was going to say that some things of what you shared are relatable and that it's great you can comment them because it's not often that people talk about them online.
I know I don't know you personally, but if my opinion helped even a little bit, I think therapy or talking about this with someone closer to you would be very helpful. Making decisions as big as deciding what are you going to do with your life, should be things that don't cause so much stress or worry. But, as a society, we have put "standars" as to what we are supossed to do once we finish school. I know maybe this doesn't help much, but I just wanted to tell you that, even though we don't personally know you, you have all of your community to support you and go alongside your path (till wherever you decide us to go with you).
If my expriencie helps in any way, what helped me with important decisions was asking God help. I know nowadays people tend to have a very strict or negative picture of what God represents, but I truly tell you, it was the only thing that pushed me forward to where I am today and it was a life changer.
What I'm trying to say is not a "oh, you are wrong if you don't ask him for help", but rather a suggestion of what saved and helped me and think could help you out too :)
Whatever you do, remember we will support you! And finally, thank you again for all the effort you have put while still balancing it with your personal life. You'll do great Shayley, don't give up! (Sorry for my english. It's not my first language)

You're allowed to feel however you feel regardless of someone else having it worse, if that weren't the case then you would not be "allowed" to feel happy because someone else is happier than you.

There were some concerning things you shared, I think therapy would be good for you so you can work through them. It's not a judgment, I think everyone should be in therapy from time to time tbh. Take care Shayley.

I know it's a lot easier said than done, for sure, but meal prepping will help you so much, especially to curb cravings. Cooking & prepping meals with whole foods, fresh food, not McDonald's. Having just real veggies, proteins, fiber, carbs, fruits, a treat, some lil snacks, all on-hand right there for you, the moment you get hungry.
All that fast food doesn't fill you up properly, have it if you crave it, but having full fresh meals available is so nice & you actually feel nourished & full. I don't weigh stuff or count calories or macros n crap, i don't trip on what I add to my recipes, i use sauces all that, but really anything you cooked at home from scratch (even frozen or canned veggies are ok too)is gonna be sooo much better & yummier & better for you & it's a pain to cook & prep it, but you'll be so glad to have it there. An instapot or ninja foodie pot makes meats & 1pot meals super quick & air fryer is another awesome tool to make things crispy & delicious, especially reheating leftovers (breadcrumbed & panko crumbed meats, coconut shrimp, burritos & quesadillas, crispy sandwiches, leftover pizza!). Idk, give it a go when you get back maybe?? Those 2 cookers are also awesome to have in small spaces, like for van/camper/rv traveling.

7:30 The reason the drinking age is 21 is because, for a small period of time, some states actually lowered the drinking age by a few years. However, many teens under 21 would often drive across state lines to drink, which wasn't a problem until they had to drive back. Many car crashes began happening because of this so they decided to permanently raise it to 21 for all states.
