I appreciate you!!! <br> <br>Okay, here are the confirmed opportunities to lower the final step count: <br> <br>- Pewter City NPC: In Pewter City, there is an NPC blocking Route 3 who will walk you to the gym if you try to exit the city. These do not count as steps, and going to the NPC is fewer steps than walking to the gym yourself. STEPS SAVED: 15<br><br>- Indigo Plateau Poison Blackout: If you get poisoned in Victory Road (like Poison Point on the final double battle) and time it so you poison blackout one step into the Indigo Plateau Pokemon Center, you will blackout to the Pokemon Counter a few tiles above you. This also allows you to heal before the Elite Four. STEPS SAVED: 1<br><br>This brings the updated final step count to 5,658.

  you can hold B on cycling road to brake! your bike will stop in place, this should make it way easier to hit cycles

  In Pewter city, could it be faster to talk to the guy blocking route 3 to have him walk you to the gym rather than manually walking there?
