  For me, WD wasn&apos;t ruined by Ant replacing Ed, it was on a downward spiral when they changed the format to suit an American audience. It went from a very British, quite quaint, very entertaining car show to a very corporate/American show that needed to compete with all the other car shows made with a very familiar format.

  &quot;For the love of &nbsp; Cars&quot; was Ant&apos;s highpoint on TV. The chemistry between he and Glennister was magical. You could tell they both loved what they were going.

  I couldn&apos;t agree more about the best way to learn a trade. I&apos;ve been a mechanic for much of my working life, but I&apos;ve got no paperwork to prove it. I learnt the trade on the job, from an old school engineer. I have however run rings around people with qualifications, because experience often counts for more.

  I met Ant at a LandRover convention held at a pub outside Bedford.<br>He was the honoured guest and was doing a meet and greet on one of the stalls presenting a unique LandRover.<br>It was held more than ten years ago.<br>As I was standing in front of him I looked across the car park as a classic Aston Martin DBS caught my eye.Immediately he guessed what I was looking at and said &quot;oh I&apos;m just restoring it for a friend .&quot; I thought what an intelligent guy as i was thinking what a lucky bar steward.I was always in awe of Ant and Ed on wheeler dealers and their engineering knowledge of cars.<br>Now here I was getting a measure of just how successful these TV presenters really were.<br>He was literally reading my mind and so with nothing further to say I moved on .<br>Speechless and envious of how successful this guy was.
