  The solution would be to immediately tell the grandparents that the hospital told them that if the aunt was allowed to hurt the baby again, CPS would be called.

  I’m glad they hinted at something that people forget. Parents can LOSE CUSTODY of children for failing to protect them. They themselves don’t have to be abusive. If these people had bent to the pressure and let the aunt continue to have access and something happened there would have been consequences for THEM too.

  so fun fact: &quot;grandparent&apos;s rights&quot; do not exist in most states. if I recall correctly from another story where this was mentioned, unless it&apos;s a specific circumstance if there is at least one fit biological parent for the child then the grandparents have no parental claim to the child.

  If all those ‘accidents’ kept happening around only your baby, they weren’t accidents. I’m glad you finally protected your child—some people don’t deserve second chances with a newborn.
