It's insane how the cuckoo is hard wired to automatically push everything out of the nest. Gets raised by foreign birds. Grows up to mate with its own species. Then automatically knows to ditch the egg in someone else nest. That is one wild trait of evolutionary design.

It looked like the mother bird was analyzing the situation, obviously confused because typically the mother bird would be actively looking for food. Just the fact that it was just there standing meant that it knew something wasn't right. The problem though is as long as that cuckoo bird is there, the other chicks will always be in danger. The other chick seems very weak as the cuckoo bird is probably grabbing the food first before it gets a chance to eat. I hope the bird's real chicks survive this challenge!

I didnt know mother birds could put their babies back. Thats so amazing. And when she pulled the baby by his little butt she was being so so carful. Wow. Amazing.
