If word-of-mouth was such a good way to pass down religion, why was the Bible ever created?

Anyone who says that the telephone game was designed to confuse the message clearly doesn't understand the telephone game.

Forget about the caller recalling what you said word for word. I'll bet he can't tell you what he said word for word.😂

I vividly recall watching this episode live, and it was incredibly frustrating to see the caller waste a good 30 minutes of airtime and then run away after he dov3 head-first into his feelings. If you're going to call in and share your beliefs, you better be ready to back them up and face some tough questions. Don't waste everyone's time if you're not willing to engage in a real debate. This is a debate show, not a platform for one-sided rants.

The fact that a single religious text is “open to interpretation” is a clear indication that it’s not a good form of communication.

Why are there so many religions?
Because there are so many fictional gods.

I am pleased to report that the Christian Union and the New Testament Society have joined forces going forward. I am certain that everyone will join with me in wishing the C.U.N.T.S. every success in their new endeavour.

When Dean called your little speech "diatribe", you should've asked him to repeat it word for word. He would immediately fail and demonstrate how bad his argument is.

I was a professor for many years teaching the same subjects. I used the same notes and graphics because the content hadn't changed. I can guarantee you that I never, ever, ever said the same thing each and every time even though I created the content, wrote it down, and gave it many times. The idea that any audience member could accurately capture the words of a speech given outdoors with hundreds of people moving around, making noises, and talking could ever capture the content 100% is absurd. It's wishful thinking. Even in modern times, we need court reporters with specialized short-hand machines to capture what's said. Arguing about whether the Bible captured ANY speech 100% accurately is just a fool's game.

Message to trolls: Repeating something 1000 times doesn't prove anything.

Dean is too dumb for this conversation. I think that's about 20 callers I've said that about now. LOL
