  Until the Game Awards become the main attraction at their own show, the nominations process and the eligibility rules don't matter.  Who cares whether a new game or some DLC wins an award when the winner only gets thirty seconds to speak before getting played off the stage so that Geoff can play another trailer?

  The more likely consumer hardship that would come from a Sony/Kadokawa merger is in the Anime space, as Sony already controls a significant portion of western anime distribution thanks to their past acquisitions of Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Rightstuff. They also bought the theatre chain Alamo Drafthouse earlier this year, so there's just a whole lot of vertical integration going on at Sony

  100$ says that Mike Verdu told the higher ups, we can fire the whole studio, keep a couple of engineers and use AI to make games at a fraction of the cost. Once the execs were done cleaning themselves off, they approved the plan and gave Verdu a huge bonus.

  "When have we failed to adapt and change as an industry" is a buck-wild thing to say coming from netflix, which was touted as the end of cable tv but turned out to just be the herald of a new, worse flavour of cable tv

  The only opinions I have about TGA, inasmuch as I allow myself to think about Geoff Keighly&apos;s Wild Advertisement Weekend at all:<br><br><br>1) Multiversus being nominated at all, in the state it released in and still currently is, is fucken incomprehensible. Rivals of Aether 2 is RIGHT there.<br>2) If you&apos;re gonna let DLC be a nominee because it&apos;s SO huge and adds SO much to the game, get Factorio: Space Age in there.
