In the movie Elysium, the main character doesnt "discover" he has cancer. He gets a fatal dose of radiation in a "do this dangerous thing or your fired" situation. He is then forced to sign a contract stating he cant sue them over it, or He wont get the medicine that will keep him on his feet and functional for 4 days.

My favs in this list, that are also in my DVD shelves (or on the buy list, plus many more) are definitely: <br>"Chapee", "Automata", "Surrogates", "I Am Mother", "Annihilation", "The Martian". <br>"Annihilation" takes the grand prize for me :) <br>Not in the list, but a master-piece: "Arrival" (2016)
