  Shane not knowing who Audie Murphy is, is the most surprising part of this whole thing. That man is an incredible specimen of bravery and selflessness. I got the privilege of walking the fields where his famous battle took place and it's incredible, infathomable to imagine what he did.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9qsZPQTGig&amp;t=1626">27:06</a> The issues with M-16&apos;s jamming was 100% because the US Army ordinance testing dept didn&apos;t want the M-16 because it seemed weird and they hate any change fullstop. But because it was an excellent gun they were ordered to adopt it. But they then changed some things in Stoner&apos;s design before sending it to Vietnam, specifically deleting the chroming from inside the barrel and changing it&apos;s ammo from stick to ball powder, which burns less cleanly. (these SOB&apos;s cost the lives of a lot of US troops early on in the war because of this) These two changes alone were the entire cause for it&apos;s early jamming, as soon as they were reversed the jamming issues disappeared, and it became well-loved by US troops. Eugene Stoner is widely considered an &nbsp;genius in gun design, he knew what he was doing from the beginning.

  Shane Gillis is so well read with military history he could teach at university. And he&apos;s the funniest comedian. Well rounded bright dude.

  My dad was a Marine in the Vietnamese war. Never has said much about it no matter how much I ask. I planned on going into the marines when I graduated in &apos;03 but he was adamant about me not. Rest is history

  That clip about nukes cracks me up, because shane has a clip talking about the japanese asking for it with the way they treated pows and countries they invaded.

  Talking about Vietnam, &nbsp;my father did two tours, 1st Australian Task Force 67-68, 70-71. He never really spoke about it, but I remember him and my grandfather talking about the contrasts of how they both came home from their respective wars. For my grandfather who fought in North Africa and then the Pacific theatre of PNG, Borneo and then the Japanese home islands, he got to decompress with a boat ride with blokes he served with. &nbsp;For my father it was one day patrolling the jungle, the next day a plane back to Sydney and having to deal with ordinary shit like groceries and paying the mortgage, and running my brother and I to school. &nbsp;It would’ve been surreal as all fuck. &nbsp;At least my pop got to ease into coming back home.

  I worked with a lot of guys who where in Nam.<br>They all died from lung cancer.<br>I loved those guys.

  My great uncle went to Vietnam after he dropped out of school and my grandma talked about more than her brother who was there so it says a lot about that war imo

  As a Guat and fan of the dawgs, it’s awesome to hear their support and knowledge of the Guatemalan Coup, an event that basically returned us to a stone age country. It’s surreal and cathartic to hear these dawgs discussing the strife of the motherland. Us Guats have a long way to go, but the fact that MSSP discussed the struggle makes it known that we’re not unseen. Matt’s compliments of us makes me giddy

  My gpa worked for USAF Intelligence in the 40’s and 50’s. He was in several meetings with Allen Dulles. I wish I would have had a chance to ask him so many questions.
