  My dad had that Sansui reverb unit you showed. My 6 yr old brain thought it was the coolest thing I’d ever seen. Hell, my 60 year old brain kinda still does 😂. I’d play with it when the old  man wasn’t watching. Got some really cool sounds. And the display thingy was like peering into the future and  infinity. 🤓. Miss you dad. You were the coolest dad ever.

  Oh my God how I miss my reverb!  I’m a Navy guy from the 70’s stationed in the Pacific theater and owned several stereo setups throughout my eight year of service. I wouldn’t ever consider putting together a sound system without some reverb!  Most of us would insist on Dolby systems to get rid of that tape hiss from our Teac or Akai reel to reel recorders.  And then, we would desecrate it with reverb. Damn but those were the days!  Some great memories here - thank you from the bottom of my salty heart.

  I remember way back to Air Force basic training in the early 80’s.  The day we got our first paycheck, one guy went out and bought one of those vertical turntable boom boxes.  He tried to carry it while playing and it just skipped repeatedly.  It took about 12 D-cell batteries to operate.  Battery life was about an hour.🤣🤣

  I LOVED my color organ!  As as synesthete, the idea that shifting patterns of colored light should bear some meaningful relation to what you are hearing just made sense.

  I like Carver’s sonic holography preamp. It does take time to set up, but it is oh so fun to listen to. It adds a new dimension to listening to music.

  My dad had a pair of Christmas trees hooked up to a color organ in the  80's.

  Original owner of the Pioneer SR-303 reverb (Active), the Pioneer DT-500 Timer (Active) , the DBX 1BX dynamic range expander (In Storage), and the DBX 224 noise reduction unit (Active).  For the soundstage, I went with the JVC BN-5 Biphonic Processor (Active).  The equipment is mostly used when I playback mix tapes (Radio Shack, Maxell, TDK)  I created back in the 70's, 80's, & 90's. 😉😎🔊🔊

You set it to &quot;Play&quot; or &quot;Record&quot; and that&apos;s what it will do on power-up.

  I remember building a color organ in Jr. High electronics shop class. It used a tiny microphone on the pcb, so no direct connection to your system. &nbsp;Pretty sure my parents threw it out in the 90&apos;s.

  Back in the seventies I bought a Sansui 5500 receiver from a friend and the deal included the RA-500 reverb amp. He told me that the reverb was bullshit but if you kept the reverb effect turned down it would still add a small boost to the power. I still have that stuff today.

  Being a carver owner of several pieces, C 1000 actually had a rear channel that assisted the concert stage. It also had a wide and narrow to help assist the location of the speakers also the volume in the delay effect I bought my carver back in 80 and I still use it. Reminds me of being at a concert hall if I’m listening to the Eagles or Bob Seger or Frank Sinatra most people just don’t know how to use it.
