It’s INSANELY CHEAP because it is INSANELY EXPENSIVE to repair when it goes wrong, which it definitely will.

Love my E92. Wouldn't change it for anything. Regular maintenance however is key. 154,000 miles on the clock and still pulling like a train. Yes, have had a few eye watering repair bills. Yes, the on board computers often argue with each other and produce a light display on the dash, but with an OBD tool and the right software, pretty much everything can be sorted. Coil packs, spark plugs, brake sensors, oil and filters kept in my garage and can be changed easily, regularly and when needed. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

"BMW" and "insanely cheap" in the same sentence, what could possibly go wrong?

I’m the owner that had this car for ten years before James. It was a great car for me and he definitely got a great car for the money. Sadly I had to move it on simply as I just wasn’t driving it as we’d bought a family car.
Hopefully it’s good to him as any mechanical fixes do tend to be bloody expensive. Cost of the turbos was an eye opener 😅

Just picked up a N54 335 with 15.000 Miles (first owner). M sports package and every option possible. Alpine white with cream beige interior. I am in heaven and won‘t sell this piece of art. It‘s just a real and honest BMW in modern times of driving computers!!😊

I have an E93 335i N55 in beautiful Estoril Blue. The sound alone of the six is incredible but the design has to be one of the most beautiful 3 series ever made. Great video and always amazing content and gday from Australia!

One of my favorite BMWs. I've owned two E92s in the past, both 6 cylinder non turbos; a 325i and a 330i. Both were great; fast and economical, the 30 particularly so with 272hp. One was SE trim the other M Soort and M Sport is the way to go. The ride's a bit firm at times, but the improvement to handling is worth the compromise and I'd say you need it if you're going for the more powerful versions. It looks a little more aggressive too. Thery're a great package, perfect size, clean, timeless styling, pretty practical, good seats and driving position. Both of mine were reliable, but it was a few years ago and they weren't the age they are now. I do, however, know from the online MOT history that both are still on the road, one having covered over 110,000 miles and the other over 90k. Neither seem to have had many issues at MOT time. They probably just before BMW started cost cutting in the way they do now. There's lovely fold out door bins for example that are felt lined. The front wings are plastic to save weight up front to a help that 50:50 weight distribution; so many thoughtful touches.

I owned a low-milage 335is with DCT, Quaife LSD, Pure turbos and around 475hp. Wickedly fast, but also somewhat noisy with the catless DP and the factory M-exhaust. Faster than a E92 M3, but much more fuel efficient - I got around 12km/l. The N54 engine itself is bullitproof, but the maintenance is a lottery. Electric waterpump lasts only 2 years. Original high pressure fuel pump gives us at 50.000km, injectors needs to be upgraded to latest version, which is a 1000 EUR + ordeal and then there are the oil leaks.

After driving a G30 5-series, the 335is felt old, and I sold it.

Had mine for 6 years now. Last few years have been very, VERY expensive. VANOS, all timing gear, valve stem oil seals, starter, injectors, DME, valve cover, PCV valves (both), inlets, charge pipe, mickey mouse water flange, lifters and that's what I can remember at short notice.

If you think a new BMW is expensive, try buying an old one.

But would I swap it? No. Nothing drives like it.

[Update 2 months later]
... catalytic converters, heated seat module, boot floor handle. Back soon ;)
