  Yonex is pretty much the Subaru/Toyota/Honda of Tennis Racquets… they have a good cult following and once you get acclimated to their ecosystem, there’s no turning back. Their quality control is very strict and their racquets are 1-3 grams within spec as compared to the Wilsons and Babolats of the world where they can be way off spec even in sequential serial numbers.

  Martina Navratilova switching to the graphite Yonex R7 frame at the beginning of the 1982 season was a significant factor in her forthcoming dominance of the sport the next few years.  It allowed her more topspin on her groundstrokes and gave her already potent serve and backhand slice extra bite.  I had the R7 and I loved it!

  Switched to them 1 year ago. Their tennis rackets are great; they keep it simple; 3 different major racket models (and many versions of each) suited for any kind of player (control, power and spin oriented). Each racket has its own colour scheme and identity. The strings follow the same principle albeit there are more versions available. The quality control is notoriously the best and the prices are not too high either. Just a great manufacturer

  I started playing with Yonex back in 96. My 1st racket was the RQ500 (i still have it) over the following decades ive never wanted nor needed another brand. I treat my racket with respect and care (never threw or damaged 1) after hearing Monica Seles discussing the meticulous work by the workers she witnessed at the Yonex Factory on one of her 1st visits. Quality products in every aspect , even their Overgrips

  I love the new Yonex Percept 97L, wish they made it even more stiffer. At the moment it feels a bit blunt at point of contact.<br>What I really love about the Percept 97L is that Yonex keeps the same thin 21mm straight, box beam for it, whereas other racket manufacturers usually increase the thickness of the beam to make it stiffer thereby &nbsp;taking away from the feel of the racket.<br><br>I hope Yonex continue to make the same thin box beamed Percept 97L but with even more stiffness for more power and crispness on the shots.
