  My Dad always said "you may not win but make sure the other guy knows he was in a fight". That has served me well.

  Relating to the first guest: I was that same kid growing up. Big and fat, constantly picked on even by my friends. I would hide in my room with my legos and video games. My dad asked if I was interested in playing football. And that decision to play changed my life forever. Football taught me that it’s good to be the big kid. That gave me more confidence to shrug off what people said or did to me. It didn’t stop the bullying, but it helped me develop some thicker skin. I know my experience won’t be the same for everyone else, but learning that I mattered and had value made those days just a little bit more bearable. Thanks for everything, dad!

  I was bullied young for being fat, and then grew up became 6'2"180 lbs, and fought them. The bullies at my school were terrified of me. I then protected the kids at school from bullying.

  Sports, martial arts—being around male or female figures who influence confidence, friendship and decency make a big difference in a child’s life. <br><br>Realizing that now, as someone who came out of my shell after elementary school (very shy), and put front and center by amazing and empowering teachers in martial arts and JROTC. Didn’t noticed bullies or insecure behavior growing up, because all my focus was directed on what anticipated my best. Their positive influence was so effective—alongside the love of family members—I jump in between every bully and victim anytime, anywhere. 🙏🏻🖤
