  Existing overpopulation, illegal population numbers estimation(8-10 cr it can be) &amp; Mass deportation programmes that needs to be done immediately. (A country capable of having 90 to 100 crores population is carrying a population of 144+ cr maybe [Census not done] <br><br>If our economy was 6-7 trillion and population was 90-100 crores now may be all things would have been different in this Indo-Pak war.<br><br>•Police Reforms,Judicial Reforms, Bureaucrats/Administrative reforms, Proper Labour Law reforms, <br>Proper Education Reforms, Proper reforms in elections funding and electoral funding to political parties, transperant like other countries, Proper Media Reforms, Tax/Proper Gst Reforms,<br>Agricultural Reforms, Municipal Reforms,<br>A Uniform Civic Sense Code/uniform situational awareness code for the population,&amp; Uniform Anti corruption code--These are the actual main pillars. <br>That needs to be discussed in front of the nation &amp; logical conclusion should be drawn.<br>It is the need of the hour.

  My fundamental grouse with India and its leaders is that all of them, barring LB Shashtri, have been morally compromised and corrupt to the core. Nehru didn&apos;t even deserve to be India&apos;s first PM, and went on to do so many things which harmed India and for which India will pay a heavy price for a long time to come. Likewise, GST was meant to not just subsume all Central and State Govt taxes and levies, it was meant to streamline logistics and make ease of doing business far more than it has. GST was indeed a structural reform, but it was badly conceptualized and hence badly implemented. What the Union Govt did recently by rationalizing GST rates (under duress) is what GST regime should have begun with in 2017. Even after the recent rate reductions, I bet prices of goods and services will remain almost as before, as the manufacturers / service providers will resort to their usual dirty tricks to keep prices almost at pre-revision levels. Many are already whining about input tax credits offsetting rate revision, even in insurance sector where the Govt has rightly reduced GST to zero %. Also, Sanjeev Sanyal has been harping on process reforms for years, but precious little has changed on the ground, as ordinary citizens continue to face the same hurdles and harassment at Govt offices as they did pre-2014. Process reforms and structural reforms go hand in hand. Also, his idea about doing away with population control measures is terrible, to say the least. Govt of India is already providing free foodgrains etc. to almost 60% of Indians, for over 5 years now. If population continues to increase (both organically thru better TFR, and inorganically thru illegal immigration from some neighboring countries) it will become a huge burden on public resources and the exchequer. Remember, that most of the illegal immigrants and the ones with high TFR in India do not pay taxes and instead feed off the State in many ways. An across-the-board population control program is necessary to contain population growth of all communities, to enable more equitable distribution of national resources. Sanjeev Sanyal as an economist ought to know this.
