I owned several David Brown tractors, Cropmaster, 900, 990, 1390. I really believe if DB had forcefully marketed the 50 D it would have pretty well cornered the market of the day as more PTO equipment was coming into use.
The 2D used compressed air as power assist for equipment adjustment. The tubular frame was the air reservoir.

Back in the early 70’s we acquired a “Muir Hill”. This was an English built 4WD tractor, based on the Ford 6000 tractor powered by a six cylinder Perkins engine. Essentially it was a Ford 6000 with the front end replaced with a differential and power unit with tires same size as rear. This made it short coupled and prone to “pig-rooting” when driven at speed. It was fitted with a front blade and towed a large four tire (tandem wheeled ) trailer fitted with a grapple hook “HIAB” crane for retrieving and loading poplar logs, which were quite heavy. It was quite innovative in the era, these days I note hall-pack units based on a similar design concept.

I had a Nuffield 4- 60 which was used predominantly for contract hay production , in four years I didn't have any breakdown, towing a B 55 international wire tie baler , in that time the only problem I had was the rear seals , cheers from Tasmania

What happened to the Massy Ferguson Tractors ? Ferguson which became MF, were the first to invent the 3-point linkage.
I have used David Browns & you can fry an egg on the gearbox after ploughing, is that a good thing or Not ?
Nuffield's didn't have a diff-lock, so not as capable as MFs, when ploughing.
Fords always had good power, & good for ploughing. The Field-Marshal, was brilliant for winch work.
Some fords had Perkins engines, as did most of the MF range. "Perkins-Desal's" are one of the best engines out there !
Thank you for your footage 👍
