So basically they realised that compressing the data is wasting it, and LAN can handle gigabit since like 2005 so they can just absolutely hammer the network card with data like it's an hdmi cable.

I've followed the dev who created this for a long while, he's really heavily involved with all of Valve's open source Linux and Vulkan efforts. Glad to see some more of his work is getting use.

The great thing about it only using Vulkan compute shaders is it's supported by basically anything that has any Vulkan support. So you aren't missing out just because you chose the wrong GPU.

it says not suitable for vr cuz it will jam the entire band, but steamframe has its own channel, that sounds like a great place for it.
