  Just throwing it out here; the Sir Pentious sex club joke would have been way funnier if no one took him up on his offer and he only got crickets when he had cheers and takers for drinks and drugs the first two times (have the guy that dragged him into the room say "Yeah I'm good, I really only come to this sex club for the penis-free martinis, tbh")  It would have made him look like a total chump in front of Cherry and made him suffer humiliation for humor without using SA for a punchline at the expense of the victim.

  Vivzie is not just an ideas guy, she is THE ideas guy. She doesn’t want to write a coherent story; She wants to show you her bullet point list of cool things and never have you question the context of any of it.

It’s clearly another case of favoritism from Viv where she wanted her cutesy duck uwu tumblr sexyman in a suit but didn’t want to actually write an intimidating or royal character that actually attends to his responsibilities

  I just don&apos;t understand why a woman, a progressive woman no less, would be this atrocious about showing any respect, agency, and relevance to the female characters? Thats the cherry atop the infernal sundae here. Between charlie&apos;s flanderization, sera unironically doing the giftbasket crap, lute doing heck-all and having her song way too early, vaggie being a nothingburger, carmilla caving way too easily with no contingency or sabotage in mind, and so much more, this crap is reaching shounen anime levels of writing women badly. That doesnt even begin to get into the weeds of helluva boss!

  I feel it could have worked better if Lucifer owned Alastors soul instead. Alastor still makes the deal but it’s Lucifer who answers and he get all that power under the condition that once in hell he has to kill the last high ranking overlords that where about to overthrow him. It ties in to how Lucifer can’t harm sinners himself so he manipulates people to do the dirty work for him, it does a better job to show why Alastor hates him so much and makes Lucifer more of an actual charismatic person

  The thing with Pentious&apos; backstory is that I wouldn&apos;t even mind Pentious&apos; sin being something so relatively easy to digest if the show was trying to build up to the redemption of worse and worse sins being questioned, or if the point was that the show would question if he even deserved to be in Hell. If Pentious&apos; cowardice was simply the first, and with each person getting redeemed it would amp up in severity, and we&apos;d start seeing people who possibly even can&apos;t be redeemed because they went too far, it would make some sense. I could see an interesting symbolism of if somebody was a murderer tried getting redeemed (or Charlie trying to redeem them) near the end of the show, since the progression would&apos;ve been that the first person to be redeemed was simply someone too afraid to report a murderer they witnessed in the act to a murderer, themselves.<br>The problem is is that Hazbin doesn&apos;t seem interested in going that route, so far. It doesn&apos;t seem to want to tackle any difficult topics, and if I had to guess, the vibe is that everybody who actually tries to get redeemed on the show is going to have some sympathetic backstory that &quot;justifies&quot; their redemption. Which, don&apos;t get me wrong, I like a good sympathetic backstory. Yet I think the show&apos;s themes of redemption needs unforgivable people who did what they did for unsympathetic reasons who try to redeem themselves and simply can&apos;t. The themes need to be challenged, regardless of where the show wants to take them.

  I just cannot stand how they’ve handled the writing where they rely on characters being stupid to force plot points prioritizing shallow spectacles over consistent logic which ruins the story&apos;s overall depth and leaves the whole thing feeling incredibly hollow.
