I was born and grew up in Richmond it’s what started my lifelong love of The Tudors, it’s changed so much since I was a child (I still live here) I worked at Kew Gardens for 12 years (as a wedding steward in season and nearly everything else out of wedding season) I will say the actual town centre is not very nice compared to when I was a teenager in the 1970’s these days it’s all Tesco, Starbucks and large chain stores you find in every town, when I was young it was small individual shops (3 record shops) and had a real charm, having said that I understand why the rent/business rates are huge and small shops just couldn’t afford them but the rest of the area is much the same as it was 50 years ago! I sat on Richmond Green waiting for my son recently and thought it looked more or less the same as it did when me and my friends used to sit there with a pint from The Cricketers in 1975, I realise I was blessed to have been born here and I can say with my hand on heart a lovely place to visit. Brilliant video (as was the one on Kew Gardens, many memories of my time there) great Chanel highly recommended!

I live adjacent to the park and feel blessed to live in such a varied and beautiful area. I have lived there since 1973 and have known the milk delivery farm, bought eggs from the Petersham farm, even saw a calf being born there. I love the bench 'Reasons to be Cheerful' in honour of Ian Drury, the wonderful views from the terrace of Pembroke Lodge, the marvellours colours of Isabella plantation in May. The cows in the meadows by river lane. Great place to live surrounded by small villages, like Ham, Petersham and those along the river path like Hampton, Teddington, Twickenham etc.....

I really loved Richmond when i visited as I have been walking that part of the Thames path recently and it truly is rather lovely and really has a rural feel to it

I’ve travelled extensively throughout the World but still wouldn’t choose anywhere else to live. For me, though not without it faults of course, it’s got everything I enjoy. 30 minutes on the underground and you’re in the centre of London, 20 minutes by car and you’re in the beautiful countryside of Surrey and Hampshire.
