We wanted to share something honestly about this video! 👇

We actually really enjoyed Istanbul, and it’s still an INCREDIBLE city. But we arrived with very high expectations because so many of our friends say it’s their favourite city in the world, and our experience just didn’t quite hit us in the same way.

That doesn’t mean the city isn’t amazing! It just means travel is personal, and sometimes places affect people differently. 😊

On this channel we try to share both the highs and the moments that challenge our expectations without actually being negative, because that’s the most authentic way we know how to document our travels. And we also want to make sure our real experience is coming across honestly for other people looking to visit the same destinations.

Thank you so much for watching and for all the thoughtful comments ❤
We still have three more Istanbul videos coming, and we’d absolutely love to visit again in the future (maybe with better weather next time 😂).

Out of curiosity, what made you fall in love with Istanbul? 🇹🇷😁

ISTANBUL IS NOT JUST EMİNÖNÜ AND ITS SURROUNDINGS. YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY SEE ÇAMLICA HILL, ÇENGELKÖY, BEYLERBEYİ, KAVACIK, AND THE AREA AROUND THE 3RD BRIDGE.

Thank you for this highly entertaining video! "Scratching my pickles" had my husband and I guffawing.😄 We LOVED Istanbul! It's the 1st place we tried Turkish Delight and luckily we bought pistachio. It was great, however, upon trying other flavors, we only like pistachio. We didn't go up in the tower (we retired at 49, so we stay "thrifty"), and we went into the Blue Mosque without a guide, so it was free and beautiful. We were there during Ramadan so hardly anyone was smoking. It was also sunny--the parks were filled with flowers and everything was so amazing. I'm gluten-free (celiac), so we bought food/wine/pop at the tiny grocery stores. We took the waterline to the Asian side, so it was a cool boat ride, complete with an accordion player, for next to nothing. Our Turkish adventure was our favorite trip life-to-date. Can't wait to see the rest of your journey!💞

Hi guys, another great video thank you. I TOTALLY agree with your reaction to and decision re going up the tower! That price is CRAZY and regardless of what is in the tower, that is so overpriced when compared to other attractions in other famous cities! I would have done the same! Cheers from Australia

Istanbul is a beautiful city. I went in June and September and it was great weather. Much busier and so magical. It seems like a little bit of a google would’ve gone a long way to tell you prices of attractions (pretty standard prices in keeping with other similar attractions all over the world).

When you explored Istanbul in the morning, people were having breakfast at home, since it was the weekend and many people didn’t have to go to work. In the afternoon and evening, everywhere becomes crowded.

In Turkiye, side dishes are complimentary in every restaurant, not just for you😂

Love all your Videos so informative I am probably of the same mind as you I would like Istanbul but wouldn't love it especially the prices . My favourite place you have been is still Albania visited the gorgeous Gjriokaster but didnt have time to see the castle but I am going again during the summer and I will definitely go again and this time go to the castle

You guys were IN the cistern. Most likely where you stood used to be filled with water for the entire neighbourhood. The more popular cistern in Istanbul is the Basilica Cistern near Hagia Sophia. It's entrance is unassuming so look from maps.
