  Steve, you should have blocked the path of individual colors and see how it affects the final colour! We&apos;ve all seen the RGB version, but that&apos;s kinda cheating as we already put the 3 components into the mix in the first place. Modifying white light directly by taking it apart and plucking out selected components, is much more satisfying!

  You can&apos;t do it with only 2 prisms, but you could do it with 4.<br>Notice how the second prism collimates the rainbow, a third prism could focus it again and then a fourth would collimate them again into a single white light beam.<br>This is used a lot in ultrashort pulse lasers to compress the pulses into femtosecond light pulses.
