This was a good story. A unique twist on the common tale of contract marriages that made it feel new. The main body of the story seemed excessively wordy wilth a lot of description that didn't add significant value to the story, but the part that bothered me was the ending, or lack there of. The relationship between Saraphina and Riker was one of the key elements that the premise of the story was built around. It was also the primary tool that Saraphia's father was trying to use to annul the marriage and regain control of his daughter. The growth of that relationship was an extremely slow burn through out the story, which was fine, as it should have been based on Saraphina's past and trust issues. <br><br>However, at the end of and hour and half story, within a story time of a couple of minutes, Riker and Saraphina transitioned from starting to support each other to sharing a bed with no transition. That transition was a major wall that both of them had to surmount, and the story gave it no recognition at all. Going from rarely touching, to sharing the same bed is almost a story within itself, and the author here barely even acknowledge it. I found that part of the story very disappointing.
