  I think Metal wants to be his own person but not in the way Sonic wants admitting to do things Sonic's way is an defeat for him, Metal is an loner but perhaps one day he will do something we won't see coming.

  The moment of Metal holding the crystal is reminiscent of that scene in the zombot arc where he touches the infectious metal virus, only to not be affected - similarly, the crystals life giving powers doesn’t affect him here.

  I like to think the reason why Metal grab Sonic is because he want to get the kill. Metal &quot;If you going to fall to your death I will be the person that drops you.&quot;, <br><br><br>Thou if &nbsp;I had to guess what sonic &nbsp;wished for, is that Metal to find his own way to live, basically free from his pure mindset of trying to be the real sonic. &nbsp;Basically becoming similar to sage in terms of free will.
