Thank you for you !!!! I am wheelchair bound and used your lower drawer ideas when our kitchen was revamped. And low and behold I was able to cook without assistance when my husband was in the hospital. When your light shines on the hilltop God uses it

I heard from another YouTuber who makes bread with fresh ground wheat berries that says having fire on/going near your mill can be a fire hazard as the fine wheat dust can be combustible. Don’t want to be a fear monger but that make me nervous watching with the candle right beside it. I hope you see this I would hate for that to happen and you just not know. ❤️ blessing in 2026 with your new precious baby and the coming 2026 spring/summer garden!

Hi Becky! Did you know that you can grind your berries according to the recipe quantity, then freeze the ground flour in labeled ziplock bags for a few months. This has been a game changer for me and makes actually baking with fresh milled flour so easy!

I’ve been watching so many videos while I do stuff around my home. Today I decided I was going to make breakfast sandwiches for my freezer, boiled eggs that are marinating in soy sauce and other stuff, homemade Runzas, and two pounds of bacon made up as well! It feels much more attainable watching Becky! So, thank you for helping me see how you do it to tackle smaller but still great projects on my own! I plan to give my sister some of my goodies she’s a full time working mom and she’s been trying to meal prep and I can bless her with some of my efforts!

Short answer: freezing (and thawing) a bagel can blunt the blood-sugar spike a bit, but it does not make a bagel “safe” or low-impact for diabetes. The difference is real—but modest. In real-world terms:
• If a fresh bagel raised someone’s blood sugar 70–90 mg/dL,
• the frozen/thawed version might raise it 50–70 mg/dL instead.

That’s better, but still a big spike for most people with diabetes.

Toasting after freezing matters
• Freeze → thaw → toast tends to be better than fresh bread
• Freeze → thaw → reheat without toasting is less effective
Toasting helps preserve resistant starch.
Bottom line if you’re diabetic or prediabetic eating a bagel is not really a good idea. Or any heavily carbohydrate ustrated foods like potatoes, grains sugars, which turned into carbohydrates. Because triglycerides raise your blood sugar tremendously.

Becky, I can vouch for the frozen carbohydrates having less of an impact on your blood sugars bx I have worn a continuous blood sugar monitor in the past and saw first hand the reduced reading. Another hack to help your pregnancy health. You are doing wonderfully well and I so admire your commitment to your own and babies health. All the best and happy new year. 🎉

I noticed that today (and in the past as well) you struggle a bit with that fresh-ground cookbook because of the way in which it is bound. it is had to get it to stay open to the page you want. This is a pet peeve of mine and drives me crazy. I have been delighted to discover that it is easy to get the cookbooks I use all the time spiral-bound for very little money. Staples, KInkos, or Fedex will do it in an hour for less than $10. (Or any place that does copying, I would guess) "Life changing", as Becky would say! Take them your three most often used cookbooks and you will never struggle with those pesky pages again.

Becky, I am 55 years old and have learned more from you about cooking and kitchen matters than I ever imagined. I love that you grow your own veggies, the container garden is super sweet!! You are going to be a fantastic girl-mom and be able to pass on a wealth of knowledge to her on many levels! What a treasure. I truly enjoy your wholesome, information-packed videos. They are filled with warmth and seasoned with kindness, and that is a rare find. Happy New Year, we wish you health and happiness in the year to come.
