Ovie’s a good passer, some guys were just horrible finishers.

Being a Penguins fan, I still admit two things - Ovechkin's an absolute legend and best goalscorer ever and second (don't tell other Pens fans) I was kinda happy when he won the Cup in 2018 - it would've been a shame if one of the greatest players of all time didn't win it.

The fact that Crosby and Ovi are still productive players is amazing

To me, Ovi is obviously a hall of fame player and one of the greatest of all time.

However, I really don't understand how anyone can not list Ovi on Hockey's "Mount Rushmore". He is #1 all time at the hardest thing to do in the game, He has multiple all time records and an absolute stack of awards, but he's also heading to all time hits and likely the first player to hit 1000 goals and if it weren't for lock outs and shortened season's he would already be there... It's insane. To me he's easily top 5 all time.

Ovechkin scored three shorthanded goals as a rookie (05-06) all in losses, one on 2009-01-03 in a win vs the Rangers, and one on 2021-10-14 also in a win vs the Rangers. So I guess the moral of the story is only half him kill penalties against the Rags.

Also agree that Kuzy should have gotten the Conn Smythe, but the NHL is not going to avoid giving the trophy to one of their biggest stars when they had the opportunity to.

People saying "oh he's a one trick pony" when his "trick" is how you win games. As long as he keeps scoring I don't see a problem with his game.
