By far, the best version of “Zorro” ever! Superb cast led by Tyrone Power, whom we lost too soon. One of the finest sword duels ever! Excellent costumes, production design and music, all under the masterful direction of Rouben Mamoulian.

One important point, however: the cinematography — also magnificent — was originally in Black & White, perfect for the Zorro legend! I was never a fan of this “colourization” process.

And not many surveys of Westerns would include this film. Studies of adventures and swashbucklers, yes.
