I had aquablation 2 years ago. 71 years old at the time, 108 grams. Overnight stay in hospital, catheter for 24 hours, barely visible pink in urine for 2 weeks. Zero pain. All exactly as predicted.
I don't even remember what is was like to have urination problems. Life is good.

This lady is so smart and well spoken. She's very thorough and she explains everything so perfectly. She doesn't leave anything vital out that's pertaining to each procedure. She's obviously very intelligent and very good at her profession. This is how all surgeons should be but unfortunately they're not as thorough as this smart female doctor/surgeon is. Kudos to Rena's skillful presentation.

I had the Greenlight a few months ago. While I wish I had seen this video first, I probably would have still done it. My doctor asked if I would mind the retrograde, and I said I’m too old for more kids, I don’t care. So he said in that case, he thought Greenlight would be a great option. He did say that I might not have improvements of symptoms immediately. BUT, he did not tell me that the symptoms might be WORSE for a couple of weeks. He should have told me that. So at first I wasn’t happy at all. But that only lasted for about 6 weeks and I’m good now. My symptoms were not severe, and my prostate was not huge, only on the order of 60 grams. He did tell me that I could just wait until my symptoms got worse, but I didn’t want more symptoms. I only had to have a catheter for 2 days. On the third day, I went back to work. My doctor told me that I should take a week off, but I didn’t feel that I needed to.

Outstanding presentation of all the treatments available for BPH, with the pros and cons of each. A MUST WATCH for all ageing males. I always enable close captions as my comprehension is enhanced by hearing and reading the material at the same time. And, Dr. Malik moves quickly! Thank goodness we can pause youtubes, and go back and review things as needed!

I have a urologist who is all about the Urolift. I was up to 2 tamsulosins per day and that was not even quite enough. I got a urolift and it took my condition back more than 10 years such that I was almost as good as before needing tamsulosin (Flowmax) but not quite. I found that it was better if I took one about every three days, which what I did when I first took tamsulosin. I prefer not to take drugs so take the lesser amount that seems to work. As I said, I worked up to two per day and that was not working. After 4 plus years after that Urolift, I was taking a tamsulosin one per day. I thought it might be worse going forward and was told I could get a second Urolift. I got one at 5 years. Its been 10 weeks now. I experimented going 3 weeks at a time with no tamsulosin. I did OK but had some urgency still and would wake up maybe once per night...some nights not. Before on a bad night it was 3 times. I tried taking tamsulosin every three days again and it was a benefit. I even told the urologist that I expected this. I see him next week. No problem with function of ejaculation. I friend needed prostate surgery and decided he wanted something other than Urolift with the little stainless threads that are used. He got the steam process. He was quite unhappy with the retrograde ejaculation that he got that he said the urologist did not tell him of. My urologist was all about Urolift because of that. My urologist said that any process that eliminates part of the prostate rather than moving out of the way, will result in diminished ejaculation. Even too much tamsulosin has the same effect of retrograde ejaculation and lowered interest.

I went through a tough time with low testosterone and low libido 🔥, and nothing seemed to help. The only thing that worked for me was a treatment I saw in a video called “How Thompson Fixed ED” now i can last alot longer!!

Such an excellent overview! Thank you. Men living with significant symptoms know how missable it is. Researching the hell out of the many choices is critical. I chose Aquablation and for me it was the correct choice. Best wishes to all those suffering and choose well.

I hit the jackpot and incurred an enlarged prostate at a relative young age so I've had various treatments. When Proscar first was released I wanted it and pursuaded my doctor to prescribe it. Results were terrible, it shrank everything and stopping the med didn't reverse the shrink. I still had the problem but lived with it for several years until a Urolift was installed. This was good for 5 years and then went through a laser treatment which I highly recommend. I am 84 and may have 1 night time trip. I am several years past the laser and do not see the need for any additional therapy.
I don't follow all your videos but do watch and re-watch if your subject concerns me or a family member. You do a marvelous presentation. Thank you.

I had Aquablation and only the highest praise. Also no sexual side effects. I was told it is best because heat is not used… but, I also find that doctors tend to recommend what they specialize in vs. what may be best for patient… hence, I did my own research.

Good luck !
