I think I eventually came to the conclusion that Hedwig must be considered magical, and that letting her out to deliver letters and whatnot would technically be considered &quot;using magic&quot; by the law.

  Hermione was allowed to use magic on the Hogwarts Express. It was mentioned in the books that when returning to Kings Cross after the school year had ended, they would use magic on the train because it would be the last time they could use magic until they boarded the train for the next school year, so it was perfectly legal for Hermione to use magic on the Hogwarts Express. But yes she wasn&apos;t allowed to used magic in Diagon Alley though.<br><br>Yes they should have kept Ron true to his book counterpart, especially in the later movies. In the books Ron is a big part of the trio, but in the movies he&apos;s the comedic relief and is depicted as an idiot. One big sticking point to me is the change to Ron&apos;s reaction for Snape calling Hermione &quot;an insufferable know-it-all&quot;. Likewise they propped up Hermione and pretty much made her a Mary Sue. That was because Steve Kloves who was the main screenwriter for 7 out of 8 of the movies said that Hermione was his favorite character. He loved Hermione so much that he gave her other character&apos;s lines and accomplishments (mostly Ron&apos;s) and I bet he would have made it so that it was Hermione who defeated Voldermort and not Harry if could have gotten away with it.

  I love the Harry Potter novels, read them more often than I&apos;ve watched ány of the movies and now we have the full-cast editions. The Chamber of Secrets was a smash hit, &nbsp;and anybody who hasn&apos;t heard it should give it a listen.
