10 Icon of the Seas Tips Every Senior Should Know Before They Board

The fare you book and the bill you pay on Icon of the Seas are two different numbers. Here are 10 things every senior should handle before they board, so the last-night folio doesn't blindside you. For twenty-two years I read cruise statements against the confirmations at a back-office desk in Clearwater. In this one I walk you through the ten things to settle before you ever reach the gangway: how to pick a cabin off the deck plan instead of the price, why you never book a "guarantee," when to buy your packages, the drink-package math and the "every adult must buy it" rule, the daily service charge and the 18% that rides on top of everything, which dinners are already included, and the one habit that catches every stray charge while you can still fix it. No hype and no fear. Just the number you were quoted next to the number they're charging you, and how to keep them the same. I never sold a cruise. I read the final onboard statements line by line against the confirmations we'd mailed, and chased the credit when they didn't match. This channel is what I learned, aimed at Icon of the Seas and the travelers most likely to get quietly overcharged on it. I'm not a travel agent, and I don't book cruises. I read the paperwork, and I'll show you how to read yours. The folio is the real fare. Keep your confirmation somewhere you can reach it. It's the only thing aboard that remembers what you were quoted. Educational commentary from a back-office perspective. Not legal, financial, or insurance advice. Charges and policies change and vary by sailing, so always confirm with Royal Caribbean Guest Services. Any dollar figures are illustrative, drawn from published pricing and typical folios, and vary by ship, cabin, and date. #IconOfTheSeas #RoyalCaribbean #CruiseTips #CruiseTipsForSeniors #CruiseHiddenFees
