Our tsunami siren here in Florence Oregon goes off once a month. We will probably just walk around the corner to the river mouth behind our house when it happens and wait for it. Nowhere to run. Too old to run.

The part that always gets me is that we only know about the 1700 quake because Japan recorded the tsunami and Pacific Northwest tribes kept the story alive. Over 300 years of quiet doesn't mean safe. Great explanation of the science.

There's an island off the west coast of Africa where the island has started to split in half. I've heard that if the western half gives way, the resulting landslide would send a mega tsunami to the east coast of the US possibly well over 100ft tall.

as someone who worked with homeowners insurance - don't rely on that, they will deny claims for any reason they can make up out of thin air .

They're so many people who live in such poverty in a modern world like this it's criminal. Get it sorted now. How much does earthquake insurance cost? Can the people who live on the coast actually afford it.

They know a mega-quake is overdue but they don't know how big. They want to keep their false narrative about earthquakes only going up to 9.4 but that's NOT what's going to happen. From the San Andreas Fault will come an earthquake greater than 10 and a mega-tsunami event that changes the shorelines of the world.
