Such continuity over the life of the tree always impresses me. Thanks for the tuition.

Perfect timing! I got a Shin Deshojo with a large bare section through most of the middle of the trunk and was advised by some of my local clubmates to try thread grafting. I loved you showing the various stages of the graft and how to support it after it starts taking. I'll probably be revisiting this video every couple of months for the next year. I also appreciated that you tried to air layer at the same time, since I was thinking of doing the same. It's a shame it seemed to make your thread grafts struggle more; I think I'll probably just do the thread graft next year and try for an air layer the following year.

Das ist einfach Wahnsinn. Bin froh deinen Kanal gefunden zu haben. Mehr gelernt die letzten 3 Tage als das ganze letzte Jahr über Bonsai 👍🏻

Loved this video, was really the first time seeing this type of graft being done. You can really see where this tree is heading and I think you're doing fantastic work. Thank you Jelle!

Great video, Jelle! I love the use of liquid cut paste on the entry hole. Perfect way to glue the branch in place. 👏🏽 🍁 🔥

That is so cool how you completely transformed that tree.

Very interesting seeing the thread graft and how you weaned the graft off the donor branch. You make it look so easy! Love seeing those red little leaves as the graft takes and extends.

I really like how you show the progression of what you have done. Most bonsai channels just 'cut' and you never know if it worked or not. Thanks.<br>Do you think removing the bark on the threaded whip to make it touch the cambrium of the trunk would make a difference?
