  Ah, yes. The problem of a dad playing story game and picking it up again a few weeks later having forgotten what the story was and abandoning it altogether.

  Choice paralysis is real ! When you only had one or two games to choose from it was an easy decision. When you got thousands to choose from it becomes a lot harder.

  Every person who says they don’t have time to play games or read books (in my experience) usually spends way too much time browsing social media on their phone. I’m almost 37, have a baby daughter, and still find time. The reason? I stopped spending so much time wasted on my phone. It was telling when you mentioned changing your “flair” on Reddit.

  Good points, us 30s, 40s think we have the time and energy we did as kids. But when you have a stressful job you end up spending more time watching gadget videos than playing games because its way more relaxing. Theres little attention span to learn a new fiddly retro game system

  Choice paralysis was hitting me hard. What I've done is list 20 games that I want to get through (mostly classic JRPG's). When I finish one I roll a D20 and let the dice pick my fate haha. Taking the choice out of it has helped me focus on one game at a time.

  Feel like I've picked up the Retroid Pocket 5 baton from you. Got a huge vid coming later this weekend about the best high-end PC games that can be played natively on Retroid Pocket 5. It truly is a phenomenal machine.

  I thought I was the only weird one. Spending hours and nights planning on how to setup a device then actually executing it. Once done hardly play anything. But now I find it easier to play mods of games I already like compared to games I’m interested in but never played.

  Yep same here only cared of filling the sd card and then just stare at the game list and turn off and watch youtube😂

  You are spot on with your comments, I have many "fully Loaded" handhelds that I will never play. I got a Playdate which is just perfect, games I can play for a few minutes at a time.

  I had a $200 preorder that I cancelled on time because realized it’ll be a paper weight to me as well 🤗 as a 35 yo dad who also produces music / DJs in their free time. There’s only so much time in a day.
