The best corn in Sri Lanka at our last day on the Royal Enfield

In this episode we drive to a big Buda statue, we have some nice fresh corn, we enjoy sunset while driving in a tea plantation and we buy train tickets to our next destination. But first things first. Some love for the dogs. He nice that you are watching a new episode of Ben on The road, from the most beautiful country in Asia. Sri Lanka. Believe me on that. Sri Lanka has it all. It is the last day that we have the royal enfield and we decided to just drive. Driving in Sri Lanka is a real pleasure and we enjoyed to the fullest. As you can see. The scenery is amazing BUT I also enjoy how the people from Sri Lanka transport themself and their goods. Old little vans, trucks and tuk tuk’s are hauling tourism and all kind of goods. At a point we stopped to take a leak and to talk with some locals. We asked if there was something interesting to see. They pointes at a statue of a buddha on top of a mountain. Curious as we are we drove in the direction of the Buda which was located near the city Badula. You don't really see it on the video but the climb toward the statue was really steep. Of course the single cylinder didn't complain but all the way up we didn't get further than 2nd gear. After a nice drive we reached the top where we met this massive Buda statue. I can't tell you anything about this statue and why it is located here. It looked like it was just build but probably it was recently renovated. If you know more please let us know! As far my knowledge goes… a buddha is on of the symbols which represents buddhism. What I can tell you without lying. From here you have an amazing view over the region. After our visit we we wandering around and at a point we started to get hungry and we stopped at a nice lady who was cooking something near the road. She was preparing corn. That was so good, Somehow I never had better corn than here in Sri Lanka. Even though this was just with salt so without butter. Probably it's the whole vibe of Sri Lanka that makes everything taste better. On our way back to Ella we came op with the idea to take a little detour to enjoy sunset. And so we did. I really underestimated the time we would need to do this ‘’detour’’ and in a quick pace the daylight dissapeared. Driving in the dark in a unknown area is not my biggest hobby so we choose the shortest route home from here. We filled up the tank and drove back to our accommodation. The next day we returned our Royal Enfield to the rental company. It was a pleasure, and what a lovely bike. We had to arrange the next form of transportation. And since we decided to never take a bus anymore in Sri Lanka we had only one option left. While Karina was spreading her love to the station dog, I was busy with something else. I am fascinated about the big old diesel powered engines. In the next episode we are taking a train to Kandy. And I can allready tell you. Ive been on many trains and nothing can beat the train experience in Sri Lanka! And this ride on a 3th class to from Ella to Kandy is going to be our best Sri Lanka experience so far. But first we will check the most touristic thing on Sri Lanka, the nine arch bridge. So if you want to board the train with us, make sure you are subscribed to the channel and we will meet again in a 3th class train with very nice Sri Lankan people! Than you for watching.
