Going through another ‘consume all final fantasy 7 content on YouTube’ binge after recommending this game to a friend who’s never played it before and stumbled upon your channel. Fantastic video, you’ve just earned yourself a sub

I bought this game only because of the tv commercial, I never heard of Final Fantasy before that, it ended up being my favorite game of all time.

FFVII was that for me too. I’m so grateful to the friend who lent the game to me.

Man was Square cooking in the 90s. Final Fantasy VIII, FFVIII, and Parasite Eve and Parasite Eve 2 ate up so much of my time. Just a golden era for the RPG genre.

FF7 was the first JRPG I ever played. On my cousin's PS1. I was hooked, enchanted, enamored and whatever word you wanna use. Then I got my own SNES, played and completed Chrono Trigger, then later finally got a PC version of FF7 myself. It was one of the main drivers why I wanted my own PS1. The feelings I felt at first battle seeing Cloud in full Polygon 3D with his gigantic Buster Sword was indescribable.

I played this in 2000. My brother borrowed it from his mate. I watched him play the first bombing mission and put it aside.

I would sneak in his room and play it when he wasn't in. I loved it. I didn't know the game would be so massive and I only ever got to play through Midgar back in 2000. I'd borrow the game again a few years later. Borrowed it from a friend and completed the first disc.

I finally completed it on my Switch in 2020, during Covid.

This was my first RPG as well, and it blew my 11 year old child mind. I had never imagined that a game could tell such a deep, emotional story and actually make me genuinely care about the characters. FF7 was also the first game that made me cry. The scene where Nanaki howls at his petrified father Seto and Aeris death scene is forever engrained in me and moves me to this day. Its called a classic for a reason, FF7 is timeless and made such a impact on so many people and helped strengthen the notion that video games are indeed art.

This video was so amazing I had to make another post. I am 44 so I am right around the same age as you, this is the best documentary I have ever seen on this game and I didn't want it to end. You did such an amazing job thank you for the happy and sometimes tear wrenching memories of my childhood.

I played this for the first time in 2002 at the age of 14/15 and loved it so much, it really changed my life as you put it. And you know what’s cool, even though I played it 5 years after release, it was still incredibly popular and I was always in FF7 forums online during the early aughts.

My first PS1 game, as a kid this game made me feel so many emotions that I never thought a game could.
