  The video of the guy checking in was by twosetviolin, it was a four hour video of him dressed as an Asian mum just checking in every few minutes to make sure you were still studying. Such a cultural moment lol. They’ve since quit YouTube unfortunately.

  With regards to your snail story... I was outside at the side of the house putting out garbage and there was a little monarch butterfly all around the bottom of my legs and I thought it was so magical and I was so blessed and I couldn't wait to go in and look on the internet to see what the symbol was for that happening and then next thing I know I stepped backwards and then forwards and looked around and I stepped on the monarch butterfly.... Messed me up for the next few days

  The skier falling off the lift is fine. The crack you hear is the binding releasing the boot from the ski, they're constructed like this to prevent exactly these injuries. Greetings from snowy Switzerland!

  I feel like a lot of people know now that tiktok (&amp; similar frequent-swiping type formats) are a dopamine drain, but the second half of that is dopamine is the thing that governs executive functioning (maintaining/switching focus) so it literally makes it harder to <b>do</b> things like the brain function that allows you to choose what you focus on and not get distracted or tell yourself to stop and start something else <b>that</b> stops having fuel and it’ll take far more effort to drag yourself from what you’re doing or keep doing something less intrinsically rewarding you’ll just &nbsp;slide into thinking about anything else without realizing it.<br><br>Same thing with slot machine mechanics and any kind of game/app that preys on adhd folk for a similar reason of procing that dopamine hit &amp; you end up needing a fuckton of stimulants to make up for it or burning thru willpower into literal burnout where you’ll like crash out for a week or two and be depressed and unmotivated and low energy and just brain fog in genreral like dopamine is a precious resource to be managed. Short form content should be thought of like sweets, like no judgement how much you consume as long as you are making an informed decision abt risk/reward
