I'm Greek and if any of my friends stood me up for two hours, they wouldn't be my friends afterwards.

Greece has over 12,000 settlements (cities, towns and villages combined).
Of these, there are a few hundred large and small cities.
There are thousands of villages.
Greece has about 6,000 islands, islets and rocky islets.
Of these, about 170–227 are inhabited, depending on the census.
So Greece is not only the Athens

    Some comments are too much!
- No, we are not 2 hours late! Often is like 20-30mins, true, but 2 hours - no.
- "Parthenon falling apart"? "Not like in books"? What kinf of books did she read? The Parthenon is not a mall, is an ancient monument...
- The portions of food are big. Often, too big!
- Greeks being rude is not true either. High tempered would be a more proper word. Mainly while driving... We are like Italians sort of.
- Hospitable yes, is so true. We genuinly enjoy to host and help visitors.
- We dont smoke in hospitals for cryin out loud...
- Bureocracy, yes, is a pain in the ass. For all of us.
- Greek salaries are low - absolutely true. Actually, they are the disgrace of salaries in Europe.
- You can have a quiet life in Athens, only downtown is a high energy area. The suberbs are cool and slow living. But if you drive, the traffic is a huge problem lately.
- Our islands are gorgeous but the mainland is also amazing!

We are many things. We are loud and funny, and we often don't realize we' re crossing lines. Yes you will experience cultural shocks here, for sure, but also... in a good way! πŸ˜‰β€lots of love from an Athenian

Brother, we Greeks don't organise to see a friend two weeks ahead. In the afternoon we call the person we want to see and if he is available we meet in a couple of hours

15:45 "They are not efficient, they don't think logical, they are too emotional" HERE. Exactly here you can hear that robotic-like mentality where certain things must be done in certain way or no other way but the German way, without questioning any authority but blindly do it and move on.

I’ve only visited the island Crete in Greece several times and it was great. The best food, friendly people esp if you avoid the tourist hot spots and travel the whole island. I love the old history and the archaeological sites. And did I mention the food? :-)

Some of what was said in the video simply doesn't reflect reality. There is no way you'd be 2 hours late for an appointment because, quite simply, the other person would have left after half an hour at most. Being 10, 20, or even 30 minutes late is normal because Athens is a huge city with heavy traffic, and you can easily get stuck in a jamβ€”but certainly not 2 hours... The lady who claimed that we Greeks can be up to 2 hours late for an appointment was probably meeting people who were simply avoiding her...

I should also point out that smoking is not allowed indoors. I don't know where some people supposedly saw anyone smoking inside closed spaces. The fines are extremely strict, and they will literally shut your business down. That heavy-set guy in the light blue shirt was talking absolute nonsense. In hospitals, you aren't allowed to smoke at all, except perhaps in specific outdoor designated areas for smokers, if those even exist.

As for bureaucracy, it exists, but it exists everywhere and in every single country. However, the situation here has improved, and everything is now done electronically and instantly. Greece is actually one of the leading countries in Europe when it comes to digital governance.

Furthermore, Greece obviously gets snow in the winter. It’s not a tropical island. It has sea, mountains, forests, rivers, lakes, and major ski resorts comparable to those in Switzerland. In Greece, you can find anything that exists anywhere else in the world.

Finally, we Greeks live life as human beings, not like robots like various other Europeans who live only to work. That’s why we live longer than other nationsβ€”because we enjoy life, and we have the best, healthiest, and freshest products, along with the top, most delicious, and healthiest cuisine on the planet.
