  Flying my 182, I tell all my passengers to watch for other traffic and TELL me. More pairs of eyes are better than just mine alone.

  I am a retired ten thousand hour helicopter pilot: Takeoff and landing from &nbsp;to different locations, within a small operating area, is the setting up for a possible mid air. &nbsp;That operation required a controler on the ground. That whole operation was unsafe. God Bless those who passed away.

  If you ever get on an aircraft, or boat and the crew does not give you a safety briefing before departure, &nbsp;ask to get off because the crew is negligent.

  To survive a deadly helicopter crash, only to die a year later of cancer at 53 is horrible. May he rest in peace!

  Local here, I remember this on the news and it was heartbreaking to see a photo of Vanessa and her son as they were all big smiles and about to board that fateful flight. &nbsp;Hoover, please do not apologise for a long video. &nbsp;Extra length doesn&apos;t mean you fill it with fluff and waffle on - your debriefs are concise and respectful to all involved, and please never apologise for that. &nbsp;I am in the transport industry, and even though my field of transport is not aviation, I take your messages and learnings with me to work each day to help keep me and my passengers as safe as can be. &nbsp;It is so easy for those Swiss Cheese holes to line up on you without you realising it!!

  Not mentioned, but I believe the &quot;short&quot; 5 minute flight time contributed to this crash as well...imagine how fast things need to happen to keep churning flights.

  As a former helicopter crewman in the Army, I just wanted to thank you, Sir, for always mentioning the lives lost regardless of the circumstances. That level of humility is one aspect that makes great pilots. Thank you, Sir, for your service and dedication.

  As a Commercial Helicopter Pilot with 2 ATP&apos;s and over 11,000 hours, your analysis is spot on. I NEVER, NEVER EVER wore a ball cap in the cockpit. The bill of the cap limits the view way too much. True professionals don&apos;t wear &quot;baseball&quot; caps on the flight deck.

  I was a mariner for 34 years and Master for 27 years and We would never depart nor start maneuvering without a radio check. I find this practice &nbsp;of starting operations without a radio check to be appalling.
