  This is infinitely more difficult in platinum than DP with no bite at level 13 and no hidden power TM. You have my respect for grinding 54 attempts legend!

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3OB-aOkDdg&amp;t=772">12:52</a> So, some basic math to roughly calculate the odds of beating Roark the way Silph did:<br><br>~Already, Geodude missing Rock Throw 3 times in a row is a 0.1% chance (1 in 1,000 for a 10% chance 3 times in a row)<br>~Onix did the best set of moves possible, as with its super weak attack, even at minus FOUR defense, it only did 21 damage with its first Rock Throw, so Silph was likely to live a second unless it crit. If Onix used 1 Screech, 3 Rock Throws instead of 2 Screeches, 2 Rock Throws, Silph would&apos;ve died again (we&apos;ll say it&apos;s about a 1 in 4 chance [25%] that Silph gets that luck)<br>~Cranidos needed to either get fully paralyzed, or crit, to die. For Spark to both give it paralysis and for it not to attack the same turn is a 7.5% chance, but the crit he actually got is a 6.25% chance (1 in 16)<br><br>So the odds of Silph beating Roark the way he did... was <i><b>0.0015625%, or roughly 1 in 64,000.</b></i><b></b> And keep in mind: this was the BEST POSSIBLE Shinx.
