In Nam, my back up in the chopper was a Mossberg shotgun. When the milspec 590A1 game out I got one for the home. Where it mostly just sits, out of sight. Now that I am getting older it is a little heavy. it remains perfectly mechanically operational and in excellent shape. Its in my will.

I love my 590 Retrograde. I got the shorter barrel, so no bayonet lug but that's okay. It's my first shotgun purchase. Defender Tactical makes an adapter that basically turns it into a 590S so you can use short shells and standard shells interchangeably.

Mossberg 590s are awesome. Retrograde is the best looking in my opinion, with a side saddle its a serious tool for protecting the home. Love it! Great video👍👍🇺🇲

There is a hole drilled for a sling stud right behind the bayo lug.  You may have better luck with your sling if you remove the stud from the mag cap and move it to the lug.  Great gun, love mine, great video thanks

Mossberg makes Many versions of its 590 "family" of shotguns. The 590 and "590 A1 "  ARE a little different. The A1 built to military specification  ( milspec) is heavier by a little over a pound. The A1 has a thicker walled barrel and an All steel receiver.  As of today, 8 April 2024 at Ammo Brothers, Riverside, CA they advertise NEW Retro 590, 18 inch for $529.99.  That comes with wood and heat shield. Mossberg has a Huge amount of parts so you can customize nearly anyway you want. The retro is ment to give the look of the WW1 "trench" shotgun.

It holds 14+1 mini shells. I love this specific model of shotgun. It’s my favorite.
