  My fil dropped my wife off at the usual place in the back of the building at City College.  She walked through the building and out the front door and jumped in my car and we headed to Carson City.  She had put her dress in my car the night before.  A simple gold ring from Kmart, the license, $25 for the preacher at the wedding chapel, plus tips for the two witnesses.  The whole thing less than $100.  No muss, no fuss.  That was 57 years ago, and still going strong!  Of all the big fancy weddings I have seen, only one couple is still married!  My parents and in-laws went to Reno, and remained married for the rest of their lives.  I never recommend a big shindig if you want to stay together!

  It cost me $12.00 to get married. That was for the marriage certificate. My stepfather paid the minister $14.00.Got married in my living room, everyone bought a dish, my mom got  the cake from the bakery down the street. That was 56 years ago and still going strong. We all went to work the next day 😂😂😂

  If it was me... I would have  gotten married quietly, with my mother and work friends and told my father a month AFTER we were married!

  We told my parents on Tuesday that we were getting married on Friday at the church and they were welcome to be there if they wanted.  The pastor was there,my mom,dad and siblings were there and no one else.  We called his parents after we were married.  We just got tired of all the wedding issues and got married.  We’ve been happily married 50 years this year and never regretted our very small wedding, and neither did either of our families as the years passed.

  I myself walked down the aisle alone. My father was somewhere arranging sth, he didn&apos;t think he would have to walk me. My mother didn&apos;t want my husband bc he was just a simple underpaid technician so she was distant. We had eloped sort of. &nbsp;I didn&apos;t mind. We were married for 34 yrs until he passed away. I never regretted anything. We had a great life together and two wonderful sons. Walking down the aisle alone still makes me feel proud. I chose this man, I walked towards him and never looked back ✌️.<br>Thessaloniki, Macedonia, Greece🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🌹

  We had a what my sister called a HILLYBILLY wedding. &nbsp; In church yard. I bought my dress for 2 dollar at yard sale and altered it myself. My other sister made all the food. Reception was at her house.

  She should have told her father it was her wedding and she and the fiancé would plan it. She needs to grow up and stop looking for his love and approval and consider her fiancé’ s feelings. I’m surprised he still wants to marry her at this point.
