The heart-warming story of a man who recovered from a terminal illness by going camping in the pissing rain with his embezzler wife

Dear Penguin Books. Please read today's Observer headline article. If there is any truth in that article then I very much doubt I'll ever read another book by this writer. I bought all three of them and watched the film too. I felt enormous sympathy for this couple. No more.

Hello my name is Aaron and I’m walking the uk coast 12,000 miles, to raise awareness of mental health and homelessness issues. I started from Southampton and I’ll finish back at Southampton in 2 years time. I started 3 weeks ago and I’ve made it to Swanage so far. I’ve never felt so good as I have in the last 3 weeks. It’s truly liberating 🧘‍♂️🙏

My feelings on how anti climactic and lacking context in the film version made so much more sense now given the Observer investigation.

After having read The Salt Path and then dissected it, dissected it because there were/are in my opinion many discrepancies in the story, I actually looked at parts of it over and over to try to understand what didn't gel with me. Then, Eureka,  the Observer finally brought clarity and made clear what my initial misgivings were for this so called true story. I'm so glad that I didn't purchase the follow up books, what a waste that would have been. My friends and I have a small book club group, needless to say, our copies of The Salt Path have been donated to local charity shops.
