Holy cow—welcome to the 1,400+ new people who joined the community this week! 🤯 I just checked the poll and 38% of you said your biggest stress is being "locked out" of your money abroad. I worked at a bank. He's right, the computer system we used did not like international addresses. Heck, if you're just travellung make sure you alert the bank knows youre traveling so you don't get flagged for fraud on your trip. And don't hit atms outside casinos multiple times. That's SUPER suspicious

Many people don’t realize how tricky banking can be abroad. We work with expats to make sure their funds are always accessible

Thank you, Sam. Great advice. One thing that I always try to let people know regarding Charles Schwab is that you MUST let them do the currency exchange to qualify to get your atm fees reimbursed. (They can get themselves the best exchange rate.) Foreign atm machines will ask if you 'want THEM to do the exchange?' - you MUST DECLINE this offer. <br>PS - I don't know how the Crypto Kids got ahold of your channel's comments section, but this hardcore push for 'Kadvun' is sullying our otherwise wonderful community's interaction. They depend* on the fact that you will not delete their comments, because 'more comments' elevates the visibility in the algorhythm. I mod a few other channels... I would delete all of this garbage, personally. It is much better to keep the comment section active with organic users who are interested in Albania. Just my two cents. Much Love to you and Spencer. 😘😘

Fun fact: Technically, what you think of as "your money" in a bank is the property of the bank. They just "owe it to you." It's written in those dozens of pages of fine print you agree to when opening the account which almost no one reads.

I remember telling people to have more than 1 bank account, and 99% of people never listened to me, and they ALL had this problem.

I lived in SPAIN from 2021-2022 with no problems with bank accounts. While I worked for the Spanish government, my pay/stipend had to go to direct deposit in a Spanish bank. Santander was wonderful. Every couple of months I had to supplement my account with my savings which I easily did online with my US bank. No Problems. I assume my Spanish account is closed as I didn't have the time to go in and close the account. I kept drawing my money after moving back to the US until my debit card ran dry. I assume all is good. Prior to the move, I did have problems when traveling in Spain. I set my notification that I'd be in Spain, but my cards wouldn't work in the banks that my bank had agreements with, when out of the country...That's why I told them I'd be in Spain. Well, due to the time difference, I almost got into trouble when my card was rejected. One of my cards did work, and I was able to eat! Crazy, as I alerted my bank I'd be in Spain.
